I might have been editing my original post when you typed this - but I believe they will be allowed in subject to some of the changes, and have a season to sort out the remainder.

To be honest if they let Daventry Town in they'll probably let anyone in. A nice clubhouse/bar area but that's about it.

I'd rather King's Lynn went up from our POV.

I can see why you say that - and yet Long Buckby have matched them all season (and done the double over them) - so if they can retain those players they could be as difficult to beat - having only lost twice all season. Its a pretty tall order for any team to match that sort of record - as Kings Lynn have been finding out, especially one that is newly formed (assuming we get accepted at that level).

I'd guess Kings Lynn brought 600 fans on what is quite a long trip, which was pretty impressive at Step 5 level - and some of them were pretty disgruntled at the extra charges - although the game was worth the £8 admission, rather than the usual fiver.

How did the standard compare to what you've seen at Step 4, Formic?

I the past eight days I've seen League 1, Southern Premier, Southern Central and today's UCL - and the last two were by far the most entertaining. There wasn't quite the skill level seen at St Neots, but the defending was solid. I'm sure if you put the average fan at the games at Bedford, St Neots and Long Buckby I'm referring to, without telling them what level they were watching, they'd almost all say the Southern Premier game between Bedford and Banbury was in the lowest league.

I've seen Long Buckby five times this season and only once did I feel the football was of poor quality and not worth the admission fee (that was their trip to Northampton Spencer)

Long Buckby won 11-1 at Blackstones last night to get their goal difference ahead of Kings Lynn. The Lynn fans weren't too happy last night - but a local Kings Lynn journalist has now stated that Long Buckby have failed to meet the ground grading requirements, following an FA inspection yesterday, so their mood is rather different now, as its almost certain they will get promotion even if they finish second.

Their ground is quite like Raunds, with cover only on one side, although they have more seats (in the loosest use of the term).
Looks like the FA have responded over Long Buckby's ground grading!

A bit rough on them really (and very fortunate for King's Lynn), but the ground does need a lot of work to reach Southern League standards.
