He's just tweeted that he hoped he's not offended and of the fans today and i don't think he has. Its good to have players that are dissapointed not too play, shows that he wants to be on the pitch and helping the cause. He's always given 100% for the side
No one was that bothered as it was obvious why, and it showed how much he wants to play, i rather have that, than a player who doesn't care etc
I'm sure that Ben was very disappointed not to get a run out at the end. He's a great lad and has a very big part to play in the important run in. He'll get his chance to play.
This groundhopper on non league matters sayes his money would be on us for the title:
United Counties League Division One
at Birds Close, Bugbrooke, Northants
Bugbrooke St. Michaels (0)0 AFC Rushden & Diamonds (1)3
Admission: £5 Programme: £1 Attendance: 350
Plans to stay local were thwarted by the oncoming snow so instead I headed up the A14 to the sleepy sandstone village of Bugbrooke for my first visit to St. Michaels. Diamonds arrived in their droves and with 45 minutes until kick-off, the clubhouse was packed with good natured supporters from the phoenix club giving Bugbrooke what must be their biggest gate for many years if not a record attendance. The organisation was spot on too with a barbeque, good stewarding for the meagre car park and quick bar service. On the pitch however, Bugbrooke were outclassed from the start and whilst Diamonds still looked UCL standard, they were too good for one of their rivals at the top scoring through King just before half-time then Wisnierski and Allen in the second half. I have seen both Sileby and Diamonds now and would put my money on the latter for the title although I'm sure Eynesbury will have some say in the outcome. Met up with my old mate Les from Halifax, sadly not until the second half such was the crowd in a tight little ground which has a small seated area attached to the front of the large club building. Next to this is a tiny cover whilst the rest of the ground is open, fenced in and with narrow pathways around two sides - a small car park is behind the near goal. Cold day, but colder back in Norfolk where the snow has settled so beware if coming this way during the next week.
I hope he's right, not only Eynesbury but I'm sure Oadby will be involved too, it's going to be a close and exciting race!
Thought we played ok today. Nothing special, but always had enough to see out the win. Could and should have scored more but didn't. Decision making again was poor when in good attacking positions but I though again that we were pretty solid at the back. Yes Quincey made a couple of good saves but it was to be expected due to the opposition. That said I was apprehensive this morning going to the game however it soon came apparent that we were far superior. Did think that their no 7 was pretty useful, and caused us a few problems when running at us. Nice set up, good burgers and cheap pies, good day all round.
A solid performance at a nice little ground, i expected Bugbrooke to pose more of a threat than they did and thought we had a good shout for a penalty in the first half. I'm sure i saw the bearded lino checking his phone whilst trying to keep up with play during the second half!

I think he was, he tried to flag for a free-kick for Bugbrooke in the second half and when i told him to put his flag down, he said "thats a foul all day long" but put it down within seconds. Clueless!

Absolutely, he's been a very consistant player this season and weighed in with a few important goals. I think he's been a bit unfortunate not to get a run out at least, but with an eleven game winning streak you don't fix what isn't broken. Hang on in there Ben, you can get the goal that wins us the league
I find Aaron King an enigma, one minute plays a very poor pass, next minute he's got great vision & a sublime touch that sets up a chance. He struggled with playing down the slope in the first half yesterday, over hitting his passes but took his goal superbly. His workrate was first class as was Brad's.
Each player has their part to play in a season that will require everyone to pull together. Play or not, a team is made up of players chosen to represent the club. They are all important and will be used when and how the manager sees fit. We are lucky to have players who are understanding that the overall ambition of the club, comes before any individual glory.
Onward and upward.
