That was so easy it almost became a bit boring - although i'm not complaining! We battered them. Job done and we move on to Potton on Tuesday. If Sileby's twitter feed is anything to go by we can expect them to park the bus.
Didn't think much of their ground. Good day though and fair play to them for getting a BBQ sorted. Very good crowd.
Tuesday could be quite interesting, with Sileby facing Bugbrooke.

You are mistaken, that was his 17th. Newman is the top scorer with 19.Olly wrote:Particular highlights were Gearing and Allen's goals as well. Plus if I'm not mistaken that's Alfie's 20th goal of the season?

Yep you're right, was looking at Newman :oops:TheIncognitoKid wrote:You are mistaken, that was his 17th. Newman is the top scorer with 19.Olly wrote:Particular highlights were Gearing and Allen's goals as well. Plus if I'm not mistaken that's Alfie's 20th goal of the season?
And with the ground at least they've improved it a bit since I last saw it in the summer, 2 of those 'stands' with 30 or so seats in them weren't there several months ago and at least it wasn't as dangerous as Buckingham!

Fantastic result, thought we played better in the first half though, but yet again the ref really didn't want to give us anything all afternoon.
Great support once again.

I swear he didn't give us a freekick til about 4.35, he wasn't particularly bad and its always nice to have a ref that isn't whistle happy but did seem extremely reluctant to give us anything.diamondgeezer1 wrote:Fantastic result, thought we played better in the first half though, but yet again the ref really didn't want to give us anything all afternoon.

I thought the ref was decent, he let the game flow and the teams play.
We were all over them and got a decent start from Deaks. Once Wizz scored it was game over, the pleasing thing was that we kept attacking unlike previous games where we've sat back.
Great support again, I think the 'keeper got a bit fed up towards the end!

It was a start that we all wanted, a couple of good efforts and some decent football with 2 good goals and a tap-in. The second half was terrible for 20 minutes when we stooped to their level. The changes, which I think should have come at half time, sparked a bit of life and ended with a couple of great goals. 5 - 1 was okay, but we should really have hammered them with double figures. Well done team and terrific crowd of Diamonds fans.

You're probably right, but the most important thing is that we won on the day. The atmosphere was amazing, its days like today, and Sileby on Tuesday that make me proud to support the club.Olly wrote:I swear he didn't give us a freekick til about 4.35, he wasn't particularly bad and its always nice to have a ref that isn't whistle happy but did seem extremely reluctant to give us anything.diamondgeezer1 wrote:Fantastic result, thought we played better in the first half though, but yet again the ref really didn't want to give us anything all afternoon.

I thought the ref was very good today - I think he'll move up the leagues.
Alex Deakin was a deserving MoM, but I think Jack Wisniewski ran him close on his return to Chancery Lane.
Good to see we helped Thrapston have the biggest crowd in Northamptonshire today - I wonder if that has happened before?
Does anyone know why they have cages on the front of their stands, which they locked up after the game - to keep pigeons out perhaps?
