Another Saturday, another match, it must be away from home... Down the A45 to our hosts in Thrapston, let's follow up our recent good form and collect another 3 points.

Parking is not great round the ground when there's a couple of youth team matches on.

I've realised that with many of these smaller grounds in the UCL that it is better to arrive at the ground a tad earlier than usual. I did this at both Bourne last Saturday and Sileby last evening and if you do that then you can secure a prime parking place close by and avail yourselves of the facilities on offer in their club house and enjoy a good pre-match chat. Had no idea where Thrapston ground was situated until I looked on Google Earth and surprised to see it's very close to the town centre.

Another away ground that is actually closer to me than the Dog n' Duck. ;)

You'll see some parking advice supplied by our hosts on the match preview - and also details of a straightforward option on the bus for those in W'boro, Irchester, Rushden, Higham etc - especially as the ground is so convenient for the Town Centre.

Same, closest football ground of any kind to me I believe, takes me 25 minutes to get to the D&D and about 5 to Chancery Lane! Been looking forward to this one ever since we were put in Div 1 so coming back specially for it, still feels odd that we're in the same league as them, I've never really gone up Chancery Lane for anything other than the doctors, so will be slightly surreal going there for a football match. Though if the turnout is anything like BPW (which I imagine it will be), where on earth people will park I don't know, there's the odd bit of street parking in and around the centre, bit of parking at the Co-op as well but other than that not a lot that I know of, the town will barely be able to cope I imagine, so get there extra early if you can.

Same here :D I can stroll down from my house and stumble back.

In regards to parking there is very little at the ground although there is some at the doctors surgery next door. Sometimes the club open up the training pitch for parking however at this time of year i imagine it will be too wet.

If anyone is wanting a couple of pre match beers i recommend the Fox (middle of the high street) It is my local and you are guaranteed a decent pint. There is also the Kings Arms next door which is reasonable and The Courthouse which is about 100 yards further up just past the traffic lights.

Do you know if they have real ale in the Thrapston club house? If the beer on offer is the same fizzy rubbish as was available in the Bourne club house then I'll be drinking in one of the pubs mentioned above.
