Apparently Wellingborough's match at Sleaford this afternoon has been called off, not because of the pitch, but because the Doughboys can't raise a side.

Sounds like Bully is resting his lads to have another tilt at us this Wednesday. :o

Surely they should be deducted points for this! 35 players registered with the UCL, 5 subs available to them on Thursday, but can't get a team today. I feel sorry for Sleaford, they are the ones who will lose financially.

It does sound a bit naughty, with a return fixture game plan for NYD. :o

Craig Adams has tweeted it is due to a flu/sickness bug affecting his squad, and apologised to Sleaford - pointing out they don't have a reserve side to bring players in from.

Given the takings they received on Boxing Day I bet the Doughboys committee are glad it didn't strike a little earlier.

Does it not also mean that Loony Tunes in midfield for them will not have completed his ban so will miss NYD?

It would be rather galling after the efforts our guys made to help them get the game on for Thursday and bolster their bank balance aren't followed by a similar game / attendance on New Year's Day.

Don't worry Bully I'm sure they all have recovered nicely by Tuesday evening and will be fully rested and, of course, it will give you and your assistants a chance to view our match this afternoon and devise a Plan B. ;)

Let's hope they didn't pass in onto any of our players!! Though if NL had it Parky's shin may be infected as it's the one thing he got near all game.
Parky needs to also be careful what he says, as in interview he referred to NYD being Wellies cup final, so would assume The Welly board will be expecting 50% on gate receipts :lol:

A bigger attendance for us this afternoon. bolsterd by the Doughboys committee, so I guess there will be little room in the Peter Ebdon stand VIP area ;) .
