Yep... Great day, emotional. We were never going to win the FA Cup, but, we could win the Vase.
Off for a swift half ;)

A day that will live long in the memory, the game probably went the way I expected, of course we did ourselves proud and stayed in the game til 70 minutes and great goal from Alfie but I think 3-1 was probably a fair scoreline, just a bit too good for us in the end. But the atmosphere in our end for me personally was probably the best since Oxford away, just like the old days, I even felt slightly emotional at the start and when we scored it was something else, superb!

Emotional, gutted, what could've been. Thank you to the squad for the equaliser, it was mental, it was mental! Ahhhhh, oh well. :( I'm so proud of the team.
We're going to win the Vase and I can't ****ing wait for my next game at Sileby, these 17 days are going to go so slowly. Let's pick ourselves up and win the UCL, come on everyone!
COME ON, JUST COME ON!

Alfie's goal was his eighth in the competition - which may well mean he is on a tie as the season's top scorer in the competition with Aaron Condon of FA Clacton - we need someone to volunteer to check the other results / scorers to see if that is the case.

The lads can be proud, they got further in the FA Cup than most probably thought, and gave some higher placed clubs a real run for their money.

Well what an amazing cup run we have had. Players did themselves proud today and there is absolutely no shame in losing to Dover, a step 2 side, who we actually stood toe to toe with for 45 minutes. The fact that the vast majority of our side were playing at Step 6 last season makes that even more remarkable.
Dover's fitness told in the end and we appear to have big problems defending crosses, but a big thanks to all the players, staff, and of course the fans for a special run and experience. Alfie's goal will live long in the memory.
Only downside (i'm not counting the result as a downside) was the over-zealous and needlessly heavy-handed stewards who, to be polite, were jobsworths. Never has the song "wear a high vis jacket and you think you're somebody" been more appropriate.

Just got back and it was certainly worth going all that way, if just for the amazing atmosphere in the terrace and that goal, I'm so pleased we at least got 1 to send the travelling support wild, I thought personally it was almost as good, if not better a moment as the Cambridge winner in terms of just sheer jubilation of being back in it when up to that point they had been very dangerous going forward and had a goal disallowed. Big shame about Crossy's mistake and it came at an absolutely terrible time straight after half time, reminds me of a few years ago against Brighton where a goalie mistake cost us a replay, but on general play, I think Dover did deserve to win tbf. We defended well for large parts of the game I thought and we did have a few good chances, but we weren't really testing their defence at all by the end.
If I had one complaint, I thought we should have made a few subs earlier than we did, unfortunately the game was pretty much over by the time Lance came on and I would have liked to have seen what Matt Gearing could have done if he had come on, but its over and we've had a very good run in the FA Cup this year, so I'm certainly very proud of all the players and coaching staff for getting this far.
Edit: Oh and a comment I noticed on the Dover forum
Thought the roar for the Diamonds equaliser was pretty impressive.
8-)

Indeed, I stood by the pitch at the barrier for a minute or so when I got into the ground, only to be told to not stand there, as if I was in the way of something? Though I realise what you're referring to and I'd be interested to know how our fan (was Jaffa his name?) managed to make it onto the roof, it was funny at the time just hearing a lone voice starting a chant from above us, though I'm perhaps inclined to agree with the Dover fans on their forum that it was a bit stupid tbh.

So gutted I couldn't see all of the game, because got kicked out for getting pushed by a dover fan but hey ho, you guys definitely made me proud by out singing the dover fans from afar!
Must say all the dover fans were top draw, real nice people and real football men, wish them all the best, lots of love the tosser from the roof x
