What a complete t*sser, can someone find out the current situation between him and RDFC tonight please?
Sounds familiar
Re: Sounds familiar
Not disagreeing that he's a t*sser, although i would perhaps suggest that's a little kind ;) I can't say i blame him really! If you are sacked halfway through your contract, you are entitled to a pay off, which is what this is about. I have no doubt he was paid off by us, and no matter how much it was, it was money well spent imo. The issue for me is that he was trying to sue us for unfair dismissal IIRC, which in my view is completely ridiculous, given his attrocious record for us, and some of the inept performances.
IMHO, these are two very seperate issues. The bigger question is how the hell is he still in football?!

I'm no legal expert (unlike KC ;) ), but if you are sacked for failing to perform your duties to an acceptable level (what that level is would presumably be determined in your contract) then I'm quite sure that your employers are well within their rights to sack you. In footballing circles, it seems that when a manger is sacked his contract is usually paid off (or a mutually agreed percentage of it) to prevent the need for the courts to get involved, however, in our case with Phart I'm fairly certain we terminated his contract with NO pay off at all. As there was no agreed pay off, he is entitled to NO money from us, unless he can prove that his dismissal was unfair. If I remember rightly, KC said at one of the previous fans' forums that the case had already gone through one court case, which ruled in our favour, but that Phart was either appealing or taking it to a higher court (like I said, I'm not legal expert! ;) ).jimbobjaw wrote:Not disagreeing that he's a t*sser, although i would perhaps suggest that's a little kind ;) I can't say i blame him really! This is only guess work, but I assume Pompey and Phart agreed to a mutual termination of his contract with a £500k termination fee. Because of this, he has a genuine claim to that money.

Still, let's not let this fact get in the way of us calling him a twat and saying that we hope he doesn't get a penny from Pompey. ;)
