Were my comments on the Robbie Earle thread deleted?
I only told the truth, ALL comedy offends somebody be it.
Racial.
Homophobic.
Religious.
Sexist.
Death/tragedy/trauma.
Jokes about paedophiles.
Yet we have all laughed at the list above.
It seems that our freedom to write what we like as adults is constricted by an over zealous moderator. Another oderator was monitoring the status and the comments yet did not feel the need to lock the thread. We are adults and as adults we should be given the freedom to say anything we like, as long as its non threatening or inflammatory. My comments were neither.

RH, on the locked thread, I commented twice in the latter stages, and added
The story re. the tickets just fitted the events at this time..... Collateral Damage just like the victims of other tragedies that end up on forums like this or on our text messages that we ALL get.

In the 60s 70s The show the comedians drew outstanding audience figures, then the NANNY STATE / PC ridden, brown rice eating, thong sandled beaurocrats now demand how we live and think. Orwell mentioned such a state in his book 1984............. the beliefs were cascaded down to the common man and they were expected to toe the line.
Surely this 'light hearted' forum does not need JIMINY CRICKET whispering in our ears 24/7? However, when the fire DOES kick off, common sense should clearly state why something is removed or indeed locked, especially when TWO MODS are involved.
The 'offending' thread had a comment from another mod "This could turn into a fun thread afterall" - Clearly not on this occasion.

It was not myself that locked the thread,but as a mod I have to defend the choice of another mod to lock the thread,as the topic had gone from what the thread was about with needless arguing between the 3 posters that was 'debating' the joke & with no sign off it getting back on topic the whole thread then became pointless,so to avoid more arguing this is why I believe the thread was locked whether you agree with the decsion or not.

I locked the thread and moved the posts as I considered them to be inflammatory and unnecessary as your point, RH, was very clearly made on another thread. Had I left them there, it would have given rise to yet more debate about what people do, or do not, consider to be funny, which was not the point of the original thread. I had already asked that the thread be kept on-topic.
Forum rules are quite clear....
Bad language. If you're a football fan you'll hear a fair amount of swearing on the terraces. I'm not going to baby anyone, or edit swearing (the word censor has been disabled), but please don't post excessive explitives. Keep it vaguely respectable - try not to aim it at people.
Posts should not be abusive or offensive to others. Proper respect is to be shown to other posters, regardless of whether you like or agree with them. Personally abusive comments will be treated very seriously.
This is a family forum. Keep it clean, and workplace-friendly!
Mods' decisions are final, and all are made at their discretion. What we say goes.
Persistent behaviour that is deemed to be obnoxious or overbearing may well lead to a suspension or ban from the forum. Due to the subjective nature of this rule it will only be invoked as a result of a majority decision by the forum moderators.

But one person complained and then that thread got locked.As far as I can recall there was NO insults on the locked thread at all, its just an over zealous mod that loves the power to lock/close topics that would basically fizzle out. Godber I can see where you are coming from mate, but IMHO the whole thread was needlessly locked just because it MAY have started an argument, it in fact hadn't.
ALL discussions (anywhere) will go off topic now and then that is the point of a free society. FFS we ain't kids in a schoolroom so why treat us like it.
