I really enjoyed it, thought with a bit better final ball and a more clinical finish we could have won by far more, their keeper was kept very busy, ours had one save to make and a brave one it was too !! We tired towards the end, but we had made most of the running - a thoroughly deserved win, now lets see the same on Saturday !! Good to see some of the first team there offering their support to the youngsters too.

We should have been two up by half time, but i was pleased with how patient the lads were and gradully broke them down . Good goal , Gilly had run a long way to be part of that move and a great save from Broady at the end. I always think the youth team games seem to be at a faster pace then the Senior games

So they should be. Under 18 whippets not more than 9-10 stone soaking wet and eager to go. That's why Lambley was so good as a youth and c**p as a senior. :D

I bow to your superior knowledge of the youth set-up, Dave, but he was deemed good enough by the management in charge of the Club at the time to be given a chance in the senior squad as a result of the Linford Christie turn of pace which he never ever used when I saw him play for the seniors. At least he was given a chance to impress rather than the 90% of the youth squad who are released every year once they turn 18.

I actually thought he was coming on in the first team a few seasons back and was quite dissapointed when he was released!
