My first home match

Post by sussexdiamond »

My first home match of this season will be on Tuesday v Eastbourne. Now living just 3 miles from Boro ground I dont get the chance to get back to Northants to often now, so I am really looking forward to match. My only other Diamonds match so far was at Eastbourne when we won 2-0.

Since then we have had dismal run and then good recent run whereas Borough have not won since mid September. Having watched them several times they really have lost their way. At the beginning of the season they were on fire and a joy to watch. But so many vital players have long term injuries and coupled with only being part time they have struggled. They put a big emphasis on loan signings but however good they have been they only stay for a few weeks and the team has no chance to gel.

The most recent game I saw was v Grimsby when they lost 2-3 when they came from behind (Rob Duffy scored after 30 seconds) only to lose it again in the last ten mins, when their lack of fitness shows. (That does not account for how they let in 5 goals in first half last weekend!!)

The current loanee keeper from Soton (Forecast) is absolutely s*** and they may recall Rikki Banks who himself gives his defence the jitters. They totally lack any confidence and a defeat this weekend v Histon I am sure will totally demoralise them.

Its all set then for a Borough win on Tuesday!!!!!!!!

See yoy on De Banke Tuesday

Further to my earlier post the local paper here today has an article on Eastbournes use of the loan system. They have used 13 loanees already this season.

In 15 games where they have used two or more loan players they have won only once, losing 11.
In games where they used no loan players they have won 3 drawn 3 lost 2.

The current batch of loanees are by far the worst to date.
