Chairman Fenty on today's match

Post by Three of Diamonds »

Allegedly Chairman Fenty has said that today's game against Southport at Nene Park, should be called off as the supporters are unable to watch the game due to the overbright sunshine.

"It's a spectator sport" he said "how the heck do you expect the game to go ahead in those conditions, when the supporters eyes will be aching from the bright sunshine, it's a disgrace?"

Out of interest Nene Park is one of the few stadiums where the pitch is on an east to west axis. I know that they worked with what they had when redeveloping the old ground but nowadays most new grounds have the pitch on a north to south axis where bright sun is less of a problem.

The supporters that couldn't see the game were the lucky ones, I hope we charged them double? :D
