Dale Roberts going

Post by nsman »

The word on the streets in Higham Ferrers (!) is that Dale has played his last game and will sign for Gateshead for £20k tomorrow.

I hope the hell not...

Who would we play in goal if that were the case?!

I wouldn't understand it from both points of view:

Dale: Why go to a club in the relegation when you can be part of a promotion challenging outfit.

RDFC: Unless they have lined someone suitable up, I would love to be wrong but im guessing Joe Day isn't up to it, and why unsettle the current squad. Dale is one of the longest-serving players, and is starting to show glimpses of his old form!

1) Where have Gateshead got that money from?
2) We'd not let Dale go for less than £70k is my guess.
3) Also the fact that we'd have no keeper would stop JEMS from accepting the offer.
4) Why would Dale go for Gateshead, a backwards career move?

I think you're talking bollocks. ;)

Justin was asked about this earlier by Chris, both on and off air.....his response was that he has not received a single offer for any of our players (as at approx 5pm this evening). Read into that what you like......but I guess we'll find out tomorrow sometime.

I'd be gutted if Dales leaves us though :(

Dale leaving would be as detromental to our play-off chances as Tomo leaving. :(

Joe Day seems like a great prospect but I just don't think he's there yet.

I'd take this with a pinch of salt people, especially since the 'rumour' came from a member who has made their first post, and another has 'heard' it at the last home game, who only has 3 posts.

Its not official, until its official!
