A sobering thought !!

Post by Pigman »

If all goes to plan (fingers, legs and toes all firmly crossed), on Tuesday evening I will be at Old Trafford to see ManUre take on Chelsea in the second leg of the Quarter Final of the Champions League........I support neither team I hasten to add, but I gleefully grabbed the chance to go and watch my first ever Champions League game in the flesh, and at a stadium I last went to way back in the early 1980's, before any of the major developments - I honestly can't wait.

Its a sobering thought that I will be watching millionaire footballers running around a pitch knowing that if just one of them were to donate a weeks wages to R&DFC we'd probably have enough money to pay our team's wages for 6 months or more).

What a mad world we live in !!

The only times these words will ever leave my lips............come on Chelsea !!!! :D

According to a report in the non-league paper earlier in the season, our annual playing budget is around £400k, which means the monthly wage bill is less than £35k.
