Details for Buying Season Tickets NOW via Credit Cards

Post by Biggles »

I think this needs a Topic of its own and as per a previous thread here are details for purchasing Tickets

Ring John Souster Tel: 01933 440942 at A & J Sectional Buildings and give him your credit card details and he will take your money. Rachel Roberts has agreed to keep tabs on the fans who pay in this manner.

Please, Please if you can buy a Season Ticket as this is a Good way to raise urgent Funds.

And I would like to add that if you pay by credit card, not debit card, you will be safeguarded via your credit card company if your season ticket can't be honoured.

Mods please make this a sticky. ;)

Don't want to pour cold water onto the great work everyone is doing but isn't it illegal / against the T&C's of the credit card processors to take credit card payments on behalf of a third party?

I know I can't use mine to process payments on behalf of somebody else.

Would that also invalidate any protection the payee has?

That is a really good point and you may indeed be correct. Maybe one of our banking experts knows the answer although there were one or two in the room last evening who didn't raise a warning when John Souster said he was prepared to accept payment through his business although his accountant may have reservations.

I believe John was going to check this with his Finance guy before he started accepting requests.

From my point of view, I use HSBC to process Credit card payments and I'm not allowed to process third party payments, this was the same with Barclaycard.

Could a simple site be set up which uses pay pal as the processor, as long as you use a credit card you should be protected?

An ex colleague & myself spoke to John last night & suggested he checks out with both his bank & accountant if he could do this. I understood he was going to do this today.
