Just a thought, although I do not live locally so may not bear any relevance to my area, has the idea been mooted to undertake an actual door-to-door collection to raise funds in Rushden, Irthlingborough and Higham?
I know that could take some manpower to cover all streets/houses etc, but if enough teams could be brought together with buckets, cover off each street/area within a town until the whole town has been covered in each of those 3 cases - there must be close on 45-50k residents and around 20k homes - a couple of quid from each home would give us close on 40k in the kitty.
Is it worth looking at? Apologies - wish I had been back in time to at least attempt to get to the meeting tonight, but I am severely tied down with work commitments at present - and this only just came to me as an idea - I need a DeLorean to go back to yesterday and post this, so at least it could be discussed this evening!! (Well unless one of you clever folks have the BB or iPhone or t'other smart phone device turned on!)
