Playing devil's advocate here...

Post by UttoDiamond »

So Marcus Law has joined Tamworth after apparently not being paid for months on end, and there seems to be no statement from Ladak regarding the poppies future.

Could Ladak seriously be considering pulling out and investing in RDFC? Is it a merger, or groundshare? Surely if it was a groundshare that would calm the Poppies fears about going bust and secure their future?
However if this was the case, why would ML leave?

JE is hanging around at the moment, waiting for what?

Just been on Poppynet and they are as confused if not more so by their situation. If the Beasants have gone, or are going, maybe IL is the mystery investor?

Thoughts?

I'd say that sounds plausible but the back of the ET today suggests to me that that may not be the case (In terms of Ladak investing in us that is)

Sounds like he is looking to either groundshare, or more than likely move KT to NP.

There could be the worst case scenario where there is no RDFC, with KTFC calling Nene Park their home for the foreseeable future.

Maybe we will go for Administration, crash to the UCL as punishment but retain the name Rushden and Diamonds and still play at Nene Park with help from a generous KC letting us use the facilities whilst he gets KTFC to pay the rents on the facilities.

Here's my prediction...

RDFC goes into administration and drops down to the UCL
KTFC move to Nene Park with a minimal nod towards being linked with the the former occupiers - maybe KDFC to try and placate the existing KTFC fans and win over a number of Diamonds fans that see JE as some form of continuation
Impressive announcements flow regarding a push for the league and teh combined potential
RDFC goes back to Irthlingborough Diamonds in all but name, effectivley becomes a youth team operating at a lower level based on the existing youth setup with KDFC being used as the professional team carrot to keep the proposition attractive to new youngsters

I hope I'm wrong.

'K*ttering Diamonds' would fall flat on its face IMO. The K*ttering fans won't want to come to NP and I think quite a lot of our fans won't want to be associated with the K*ttering name. I have nothing against K*ttering, the town, the fans or the club but I want to support a team that's Rushden, not K*ttering. I don't associate myself with K*ttering and they don't associate themselves with anything Diamond related, including our ground.

I feel the same but I believe that by forcing just one team to be left playing at any level close to the conference the options simply won't be there to follow any other team.

Arandee do you see the youth carrying on just as existing or combining with K*ttering youth to have two tier system ie; tier 1)centre of excellence tier 2)elite. rdfc are very strong at the elder age group as proven this year.regarding the statement would it not come from KC now the beasants are not about at moment being the largest creditor.don't know just summising like everyone else allthough 001seems very clued up maybe he/she knows

I think that if I was from Rushden/Irthlingborough/Ferrers and anywhere really local, I'd also be 100% against a merger or K*ttering playing at Nene Park.

For people such as myself, in places that are actually closer to K*ttering, would anyone actually watch a KTFC at Nene Park instead of RDFC, and would anyone dare I say support a KTFC playing at
Nene Park?

If it was a direct choice between seeing RDFC play in the dog & duck, or watching KTFC in the BSP, I think I'd probably do neither to be honest, especially with the prospect of supporting a pheonix club rise not being there, as I'll only be around for another year!

This is all bloody upsetting...I know it's silly in the grander scheme of things, because I want to watch football week in week out, and have a team to support, but if the majority of locals in northamtonshire don't care as much as our solid thousand strong loyal fans do...what can we do? As silly as it is really, I wont watch K*ttering at Nene Park and i wont watch a merged team. I'll watch rushden at Nene Park in any league or i'll be an armchair fan who watches MOTD until I move out of northamptonshire and then have a valid reason to switch to another team.

I really hope someone is waiting to see if it's worth investing....we have the facilities, we have a great manager, we have the initial 1000 loyal fans, we've proven we want the club alive by raising 50+ grand in 2 weeks through lets face it not too much, so the commitment and the want is there. Let's hope there is someone out there who can actually afford to invest and keeps us a float while we find some stability

If nothing happens, and it does all go tits up, I think the closest team I would consider supporting is Peterborough. I've never really had a problem with them, they have a good set-up, a few ex-diamonds players and are playing good football. they would probably be the only team around here that i might consider watching
