Jamie Stuart's return to Grays
Jamie Stuart's return to Grays
According to the Grays forum the fans were planning to present JS with a Grays player of the decade award tomorrow - before kick off. They are a bit miffed that their Chairman has banned such a presentation.
I do think it would have been a bit odd to see such a presentation from an opposing team, but some of them are sufficiently upset that they are either boycotting the game or going to support Jamie from amongst the ranks of the away fans.

Reading their forum makes it sounds like tomorrow's going to be another Weymouth type game...

I must admit I didn't like Stuart at the start of his Rushden career but he has won me round totally. It just shows to me that I shouldn't be judging players without giving them a fair chance. Solid footballer always gives 100%, rather he was playing for us than against us. Top signing.
There's only one Dale Roberts, one Dales Roberts, there's only one Dale ROBERTS! R.I.P

Personally I don't want Stuart to get a presentation from them before the match, I want him fully focussed on playing for us and getting all 3 points. Afterwards in the bar would be ok.

Yea, he's taken time to settle. I also did'nt like him at first but he has made himself a worthy signing. Not sure how far we can go with two, under six-footers at centre half tho! :roll:RiK2006 wrote:I must admit I didn't like Stuart at the start of his Rushden career but he has won me round totally. Jamie won man of the match on the coach today, played an immense game against a guy 2 feet taller. Well done skipper, you are a credit to the team.

I totally agree, I was one of those who voted for him. Tommo and O'Connor were superb, expecially in the first half, but Stuart didn't put a foot wrong all game. You could see just how much it meant to him after the game! Two of Diamonds wrote:Jamie won man of the match on the coach today, played an immense game against a guy 2 feet taller. I've said from the start give the bloke a chance, proper non-league defender.
