Thanks for all your ideas relating to creditors Formic , we are owed about £4000, you couldn,t kick the boys out it wasn,t their fault and you would have ruined their future but i think people played on that fact. The club had often been late paying in the past but you did get t eventually and this is what we expected this time , alas we were wrong

My thanks too. Unfortunately I am trying to come to terms that I will get nothing and I doubt anyone else will either. There are no assets and any money that comes in, eg from Gillingham will go to pay the administrator. I believe that even some, maybe all, of the framed shirts etc are owned by the landlord rather than the football club hence they couldn't be seized when the bailiffs arrived.

I do wonder whether the fact that the Landlord still seems to have had control of so much of the Football Club even when it was being "managed" by the Beasants might give the creditors a claim against that party. That situation may be blurred (for better or worse) by the situation regarding the use of a Supporters Trust umbrella to have overall charge.

Whilst I agree with the sentiments behind all your "hung out to dry" threads, the truth is we're a small football club going bust and no-one really gives a stuff about it Tony (Formic).

With the amount of money owed to the taxman and the issue of housing benefit allegedly being paid to the club but not passed on to landlords, you'd think there would be accountants/investigators crawling over the place to find out what has happened - but no-one truly gives a rats arse apart from those owed money and fans of the club, and some of them don't really care either if they're prepared to go and watch K*ttering at NP  .

We can try and put all the pressure we want onto people, shout and scream about the injustices that have happened, but it won't change a thing. Businesses are going bust daily and we're just one in a long list. Its unfair, its unjust - but thats the reality of it.

There is little or nothing we can do as fans to alter that, we can ask questions, we can write letters and emails to all and sundry, but it'll have zero effect on the end result. Call if defeatist if you like, but I call it realism. The Conference couldn't wait to get shot of us for whatever reason, probably fed up with all the games and brinkmanship certain people had played over the years and saw it as payback time ! No-one cares apart from us.

Looking ahead to an AFC side doesn't mean we don't feel sorry for the people who have lost money - but the reality is any time and effort put into asking questions is futile in my opinion.

I know who I blame for things that have happened, and it sticks in my throat that they'll get away with it and not face any charges - sadly that is life ! I guess as I'm getting older I'm getting more cynical about stuff.

Jim,

Whilst you are probably right on many counts, I would try to use the fact that although many businesses do go bust, very few "ex-Football League" Football clubs do go bust - and when problems have occurred in the past (Scarborough / Halifax) the FA claims to have put measures in place to reduce the chances of it happening again. They claim to be a support network for clubs, their fans and by inference their suppliers.

Others have suggested that little will get done to investigate where the money has gone - but if the FA condone that then they are encouraging similar situations to reoccur at other member clubs - and although the next victim may well be K*ttering who have never been a league team, there are others who are vulnerable which I believe the FA has a duty to protect.

I'm going to write to them in the next week, even if I don't get any support from fellow fans on any of my other suggestions.

I'm not anti-AFC R&DFC - I encouraged the guys to get the publicity for the initial meeting whilst they could, but I don't think the creditors should be forgotten. AFC needs someone to step up to the plate as Club Chairman, Club Secretary and Project Manager for the Club creation project before people can be any more sure that their efforts aren't being as futile as you suggest these initiatives are.

We're in agreement with pretty much everything, and your thoughts on the right people stepping forward to fulfil those roles were the same as mine, I was talking about this after the first AFC meeting. Unless we have the right "movers and shakers" step up to the plate then its dead before it even starts.

I agree about challenging the FA to investigate what has gone on more, but at the end of the day I'm not entirely sure they have any power to do anything other than huff and puff. Their fit and proper person test certainly needs a look at though.

If we were to write to the FA all we'd get back (if anything) would be a nicely worded "feck off we're not interested" letter, if that ! Like I say, we're in agreement, but I think your expectations of people caring are far higher than mine.

No harm done in trying though.
