Post by STAGMAN »

On sunday i emailed various sporting institutions in the surronding area for free tickets etc for auction/ raffle prizes and the Cobbs came straight back to me saying they would help and today a parcel containing 2 shirts and some ticket vouchers arrived in the post. That's very good but I suspect that they have loads of tickets going free.

The Cobblers have always been very good at supporting Junior Football Clubs, offering discounts on groups, running tournaments, providing raffle prizes etc.

Reading this article it looks like the Conference has donated two VIP tickets to the play off final at Wembley this year. Great gesture http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/gran ... um=twitter

To be quite honest i didn,t contact the poppies ( i didn,t think anyone would want anything of theirs) but i did contact the following Corby,MK Dons, Posh, Norwich, Silverstone and Rockingham Speedway. The only replies i have had have been the Cobblers and Norwich who declined but at least got back to me .The Dons wouldn,t even let us shake our buckets at their ground at the end of last season. I have a long memory

I think it actually reads that they have donated 2 tickets for the prize draw, the winners of the draw will get VIP tickets to Wembley. Still a nice gesture though.

Don't hate on me for this but should we not be trying to encourage peope to watch AFC rather than giving away ticket vouchers to other local teams. I'm not criticising, just suggesting...

Stagman - I work at Rockingham speedway and it's a complicated set up to say the least. I'm leaving for another job at the end of next week but I'll PM you my email address. If you send me a copy of your letter I'll make sure it ends up in front of a decision maker. Can't guarantee anything further than that but at least it will get seen.

Good luck with all the others as well. Also in the racing world you might want to try a company called Palmer Sports. They're based at an airfield in Bedfordshire but are far and away the biggest players in the driving experience game in the UK.
