The old web site

Post by icm »

Does anybody know why the old web site is still working and how is it being paid for?
It was last updated on the 6th August about player movements.
Who is updating it?

The "old" web site never cost the club money (although a few people chose to believe what they were told by Liam Beasant on that subject) - and there is a long contract with Perform Group who provide the servers and get revenue from adverts to cover this.

The contract will end when R&DFC 1992 finally gets wound up, but the website may remain - as has happened with AFC Halifax Town in a similar situation.

At the moment it is a useful archive site. We have stripped it down as far as possible to what is still relevant to the history of R&DFC 1992 - i.e. the historic stats, historic match reports, A-Z of all Diamonds players (complete with pictures), Match Gallery and Club History pages. We've left the News Archive too, in case anyone needs to research the way the club was brought down.

The A-Z is being updated as appropriate with information on ex-Diamonds when they move clubs (and any changes are tweeted via @officialRDFC).

It may get closed if the Administrator or Perform Group decide it should go - in which case there will need to be discussions with AFC RDFC 2011 about whether they want to try to "take on" this content / history information.

Just to be absolutely clear, neither KC nor the Beasants can update it.
