I am pleased to be able to announce that we have only 5 short days to wait until our next game as AFC R&D take on FootballCV Reds at Kiln Park on Thursday 10th November, kick-off 7:45pm.

Entry will be the usual £2/£1

It's a bit of an odd one this, given FootballCVs links with Nene Park, having returned to playing their home games there, as well as the other links they in that area.

It's not an odd one at all - we are simply playing a game of football against them.

The lads need a game and FootballCV will give them a competitive fixture against a team of full-time boys.

Knowing you as I do, I'm sure you don't mean your comments to come across in a negative way "Formic", but it almost sounds like you are trying to make something out of nothing!

It wil be an interesting game from the point of fact that the Cobblers youth ( who we have in the cup ) recently beat The CV,s in a freindly 11-1 ?

I think Formic is not impressed that we are playing a team that has links with Nene Park and in someway is worried that we may be leaning to forgiving the person or people behind Nene park.

To me FC Reds are part of Corby Town and not Kettrin or anything as far as i'm aware with Cousins and i wonder if once the current contract expires next year will Football CV move totally to Corby but i suppose that depends on available accomodation/facilities in Corby near the New Stadium.

P.S i would add as long as FC reds come to us thats fine, will never go to Nene Park for such a game.

There are plenty of suitable facilities around Steel Park. A football training pitch and all weather facilities on Corby Rugby Club land, open council owned recreational land and, of course, a pitch within Rockingham athletics stadium complete with floodlights. Given the size of Corby, there is also more accommodation than in Artleknock with a hotel within 200 yards of the complex.

The hotel would be a lot mor expensive than the frontier camp and they probably would not want a lot of young lads hanging around it anyway, but their is plenty of other facilities at Sorby

I am with formic on this, while they are still at nene park lining the pockets of cousins we should only play them in competive games. Very poorly thought out IMO.
