Dog & Duck Ground Works Updates
Just emailed this to all of my volunteers, but thought I'd post it here as well.
Hi everyone,
Sorry I've not been in touch this week, been a tad busy with the day job unfortunately !
I've just had it confirmed that there is a wedding party using the Social Club at the Dog and Duck tomorrow from about 4.30pm.
Given that we are currently painting the Social Club this causes us a bit of a problem regarding carrying on with that particular job tomorrow. If any of you were thinking of going down to the ground to continue with the painting of the Social Club (as I was) then those plans are scuppered - wet blue gloss paint and wedding dresses don't mix well !!!
I understand the weather forecast for Sunday isn't good either so I'd like to try and do a bit tomorrow if we can !
I am still going to go down to the ground first thing tomorrow for a couple of hours, probably 10am to 12noon and I aim to start painting the pitch railing - if any of you are able to join me that would be good. There are a few other minor jobs like weeding and litterpicking we could do as well. I can only give a couple of hours, but its surprising how much you can do in this sort space of time. Hopefully I'll see a few of you tomorrow?
I also want to ask if any of you are interested in helping us in the capacity of Match Day Volunteers once the season starts? We have a range of different opportunities, from acting as stewards, working on the turnstiles, selling programmes etc. If any of you are interested in helping this way please email chas@afcdiamonds.com , I know he would be delighted to hear from you.

Jim,
The lights that are being donated should be with me next week, I have had to remind them.

Update - Sunday 24th June
Unfortunately we don't have time to cook people food, we're all far too busy cracking on with the work that needs to be done - if we had a few more people helping, then who knows (hint) ;)The Godfather wrote:If I could have a juicy cheeseburger, I'd come. (hint) 8-)

I've just got back from the D&D having been down there since 8am - progress is slow but good, we've blue glossed all of the end and most of the front this morning, still got a few windows and soffits to do and the odd bit of snagging here and there, with a good couple of hours tomorrow evening (and a few bodies !!!) we may have it finished, fingers crossed for fair weather !!
Ash came down this morning and strimmed around and weed killered again, thanks mate, he's really starting to get on top of this now and the general areas are looking really good.
We've still go the white pitch barrier to finish off rubbing back and painting too, didn't get any of that done today because we took advantage of the dry weather to focus on the club house (plus there were only 2 of us for most of the morning), fingers crossed the netting will be down this week so we'll really be able to get going on that.
My thanks to Bob, Doug and Darren for their help and support this morning - we're getting there, slowly, but we're getting there !!!

Get off your arse you lazy sod, there is a burger van over the road if you like to eat that kind of shite. The Godfather wrote:If I could have a juicy cheeseburger, I'd come. (hint) 8-)
Seriously though all the Rushden till I die chants last and there is almost always never more than 5 or 6 people there. Lets get the job finished and we can relax knowing we can meet the kick off deadline which is almost on us. Rant over for today ;)
You don't need to have a degree in holding a paint brush to help

Re: Dog & Duck Ground Works Updates
From the safety of South Devon, I can say that if I was still local, I'd be there 7 days a week ;)
