Evening Telegraph - What's Going On?

What's going on with the ET?

http://www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/spo ... n-diamonds

There's no mention or article of any nature on the website. I know the paper only comes out weekly now and perhaps we're not being focused on because of our league position. However, I'd at least expect something perhaps even just a list of friendly fixtures on the on-line version.

Kett & Cobblers have loads of articles :(

Ignore that page. Any news stories about AFC don't get listed there. There is a news story about our new shirts already online today.

But people probably go straight there looking for something.

Can we not contact the ET about getting something sorted to help promote us? I read somewhere we have a marketing department I don't mind helping out.

I'll call the ET and contact the marketing dept about helping out.

Cheers

Perhaps you ought to leave it to Bozzer who is our press representative. ;)

I would also add that those people with an Internet connection who want to find out the latest news about our club will go straight to our excellent official web-site. The main challenge for our club is get the news out to those potential fans who have no Internet connection. That's where Radio Northampton, posters and word of mouth become important.

i spoke with John Dunham about this the other week and they are currently under going a change on their website so it will be changed when thats done which is soon. Although i would expect us to go into a UCL section.

Don't complain about any lack of coverage in the ET, they have featured tomorrows match and have reported about our new shirts this week and have been very supportive indeed.

In fact if you go on the UCL Facebook page you will see us get a right slagging off from a chap at Corby S&L for featuring way too much in ET it's the 3rd time he has whinged.

I don't apologise for it, we have news and we try to make everyone aware of it, if Corby S&L or anyone else in the league produced the same amount it would be my choice to read it or not, but i wouldn't have a go at the paper for reporting it or for them for generating it.

I agree Jon, in fact we appear to be a getting coverage of our club by Jon Dunham than even Brackley Town.
As for S&L aren't they a rugby team? :D

i just try and give them news, there is always stuff happening and news is being generated and i think it works for them as they need it and it works for us as it helps publicise us.
There really is nothing to stop any other club generating the same amount of stories and giving it to the ET, but alas it seems it easier to whinge about them and us rather than do something positive!

I agree and found from my experience as a press officer for a local cycling club that you need to be proactive supplying the local papers with news, race reports and other information of interest. Their correspondents certainly appreciate being provided with information to enable them to produce good coverage of the sport that they cover.
