Re: B&Q Parking
Assuming that is the case, I think as soon as a fellow Diamonds fan gets any kind of a fine for parking there we should all boycott all the establishments on that site. Although the extra cars might have meant a few people had to walk a bit further to the doors of B&Q, there were plenty of Diamonds fans who visited the shops on that Retail Park who wouldn't have done otherwise.
To be honest, whenever I see one of those threatening notices on the entrance to a carpark, even if I'm making a legitimate visit, I'll tend to go elsewhere if that's an option - there are too many stories about how some of these schemes operate and how innocent people are entrapped.
It will be interesting to read the notices and check the legality of what they are doing.

Re: B&Q Parking
I thoroughly agree with you formic...surely the shops are noticing a difference in takings on a matchday. However not wanting to chance any sort of fine, and being my first game of the entire season today am getting the train over.
Not really keen on street parking on a match day. Where are the best places to park for next time. Ill admit I parked at b and q last dog and duck visit, oops!

Full details here http://www.afcdiamonds.com/directions-t ... g-and-duck, as Matt said we have agreements with a couple of units at the entrance to the industrial estate and other options too. If you're unsure the stewards at the entrance to the ground should have a mini-map handout they can give/show you.
The management company for the retail park contacted us recently and I had a conversation with someone there about it last week, they'd got our fixtures from the website and was talking about it from a 'safety' angle (although that wasn't too difficult to see through), so this is not unexpected and one of the reasons why we haven't mentioned the retail/superstore parking in our guide. Park there at your own risk.

Re: B&Q Parking
£100 fine who's going to be brave enough to try getting away with parking there? What if you go into B&Q before the game and purchase a small item leaving the bag on display in the car so that they can see clearly that you are a customer?

Re: B&Q Parking
These "fines" are completely unforceable, the only people able to force "fines" are traffic wardens and the police.
Basically when you get one of these fines, they are suing you for breach of contract, which is the contract of parking in their car park for 1 hour or so etc.
They will threaten to take you to court, but not one single case "yet" has ever got that far yet, the "fine" companies make money in people that pay up, and do not go that far as its is just not worth it.
Look up on the watch dog site, is well known these "fines" are not worth the paper they are written on.
The other side to the issue is obviously not to upset your neighbours, as one day you may need their help etc.

Re: B&Q Parking
I can confirm there are many signs now displayed in the car park threatening a £100 fine with a company called Total Parking Solutions monitoring it. It only applies on Match Days - I"m not sure how a visitor to Dunelm Mill would know if was a match day.
