HUGE respect to the Club, fans, and players of Everton FC who put aside old rivalries to pay tribute and stand in solidarity with fellow football fans from their city, yesterday at their home game against Newcastle United, despite local rivalries (big up to the Magpie fans as well).
What a shame that Manchester United fans couldn't do the same last Saturday, despite the best manager of all time telling them they should.
Not only does it remind us that there are far more important things in life than football (the old cliche about "putting football into perspective") but it shows us that it is possible to be rivals without sinking to the level of mindless thuggery.
