Looking at those images car parking may be problematic. Has anybody ever been before?

I'm really keen for us to progress as far as possible in the Vase, but this should be a good test of where we're at given their position in the UCL Prem. I read on Pitchero that their best run of results in 6 years was ended yesterday.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I noticed that a few weeks ago despite Yaxley saying on their OWS that they had adequate car parking facilities. I wonder how they cope with larger than average crowds with regards to parking? Those drove roads surrounding the ground are very narrow, usually with drainage ditches either side so verge side parking will be very difficult.

Actually those street view photo are very old and Yaxley have recently finished building a new clubhouse and stand. Whether the car parking has been improved i'm not sure

Advice thread from Yaxley:-

James Whittaker is trying to get registered on this forum, so perhaps a moderator could approve ASAP so he can post up further advice regarding Saturday.

This from Jeff Lenton on the UCL FB page:

Yaxley v AFC Rushden & Diamonds - FA Vase - Sat 13th Oct.

Folks, I've been hearing loads of stuff about getting to the game on Saturday and car parking. etc etc.

We've got car parking for about 60 cars immediately adjacent to the club house PLUS an overflow car parking that will easily take 800 cars opposite (100 yards walk approx). All car parking is free!

We're opening the gates at 2pm. We...'ve got probably the best (sorry Haydn) tasting burger/chips/hot dogs from our own catering wagon just inside the ground and in the clubhouse cheaper beer than you'll find at any of the local pubs (we've laid on extra staff) there's a pool table, Free Sky TV in the main function room and 1st floor VIP/Sponsors lounge. SO COME AND SAMPLE SOME PRE-MATCH ATMOSPHERE - YOU'RE ALL VERY WELCOME.

For directions just go to http://maps.google.co.uk/

and put "Yaxley FC" in the search bar - there's also an excellent link on the AFC R&D Next Fixture page on their website.

SEE YOU SATURDAY !!!!! Jeff Lenton

Looks like they'll cope with all the cars, Haydn might have something to say about the food though...

I love the fact that a lot of these clubs go out of there way to make extra effort when they realise larger than normal supporters will be coming to their club.

How very refreshing and thoughful. I'm finding the "lower leagues" to be extremely friendly and away trips are a great day out. It's also nice to be welcomed and valued as a visiting fan. The clubs obviously can see that with a bit of planning and work they can make more money, which after all is vital for clubs at this level.

YAXLEY me UP!! ;)

SKY is a bonus too. I do love Jeff on a Saturday :D

I can't remember what they had in the way of beer there, but having attended the UCL AGM at Yaxley a few months ago, I can vouch for the quality of their club house. Really nice facility, and a good size too, should cope well with a good number of travelling supporters.
