Corrected Attendances

Post by Formic »

Now the latest UCL attendance figures have been published there were three fairly small amendments to earlier figures (on top of those previously advised) - the summary stats page on the OWS reflects these, as does the fixtures / results list.

Formic, are you able to tell us what the corrected figures are, and what they were previously?

Just checking through against my own records:

Non-adjustment but noteworthy - Home attendance v Wootton is 456 in match report and 457 on fixture table (I always had 456 noted down).

Changes according to my records:

@ BPW moves from 570 to 567
@ Bourne moves from 264 to 256
@ Thrapston moves from 430 to 417

If that is correct (Formic?), hope that helps BR

That Thrapston attendance (and the Bourne one) is surely BS, unless 100 fans sneaked in without paying at both games?

I can't believe that Thrapston is that much lower than Burton. They looked about the same to me.

P.s thanks Everyweeker.

That's right - and I've amended the Wootton match report now to 457. There was also an earlier change to the Oadby attendance from 512 to 511.

These sorts of minor adjustments aren't too surprising. In the R&DFC days there used to be a list of complimentaries, which could be accounted for, but in the UCL days there seems to be a UCL pass which people just turn up and use to get in free, and the data on these gets reconciled a bit later.

The other problem is the lack of secured access, so people are getting in free at certain grounds, meaning our headcount can be more than the actual attendance that is finally reported. In AFC R&D's case all our volunteers will pay for entry, but other clubs may give free admission for those who help out with stewarding etc, but these might be counted initially. Those factors have explained the bigger discrepancies we've seen.

We will always try get the "official data" from the UCL included in the Summary Stats page, and on the fixtures / results lists, as these are cross-checked more than the historic match reports. If anyone spots a discrepancy feel free to PM me.

Certainly possible at Bourne. A lady walked past me with her dog three times during the first half so that's six there, eighteen if you are counting legs

Really puts into perspective how low we are in this league, teams are just about literally being watched by one man and his dog.
