Beginning of the End?

Post by Cotty »

in today's Nene Valley News there is a planning application to change the use of 5 a-side football pitches on Diamond Way, Irthlingborough to private gardens. What will be the next to go?

Presume this is owned by Peter Wilson and not KC.

Applicant is Avenbury Rushden LLP based in Birmingham. Believe there were plans afoot for a change of use to the Sports Centre also owned by Peter Wilson.

Avenbury Rushden i believe is the same as Avenbury (Dudley) ltd basically a sole trader that buys up parcles of land to either develop or sell on at later date, he will just grass over the land and sit and wait.

Do you think he owns any adjoining land, such as Pitch 2? Seems odd to go to the trouble and expense just to apply for a change of use on that small area.

Not really, if the rest of the site gets sold off for development he'll be able to command more than market rates to sell his bit.

Only some of the car park is owned by him to my understanding.

When I think of what we, and other local teams, could do with these facilities, rather than stand by and watch rival businessmen screw each other, it moves me to tears of sadness/frustration/rage take your pick. (well, all three actually) :x
