Selfish Optimism
With the weather again looking grim this weekend would it not be a good thing for games to be postponed. Especially regarding Oadby. They currently have only one midweek date free (30/4) and have yet to rearrange two matches postponed last week plus a possible League Cup final.
I think we have to be realistic and accept we probably wont win the league but 2nd place is still very much on the cards, despite a mood of despondency on this forum since Tuesday.
Put simply we have to beat Oadby and Eynesbury and win the other 8 games.
If we beat Eynesbury that about puts paid to their chances of finishing second. If we beat Oadby they still have a slight advantage but it is quite possible/probable they will draw or lose to Eynesbury.
And don't forget with Oadby playing so many games they may drop a point somewhere, Bugbrooke (h)
Harrowby (a) Spencer (a).
SO CHIN UP EVERYBODY AND LETS KEEP THE FLAG FLYING HIGH.

At this level midweek games can be a great leveller with key players missing due to work commitments, plus if it carries on the some teams will struggle as players go on their summer holidays!

That is true, we could only force 1-0 home wins v lowly Olney and Potton during midweeks. Sileby have also recorded some narrow winsSouthRushdenJFC wrote:At this level midweek games can be a great leveller with key players missing due to work commitments, plus if it carries on the some teams will struggle as players go on their summer holidays!

Thats the most important thing. Remember those boring Saturdays last year when we wished we had a team to watch? Its been top notch so far with a decent run in the vase, winning most of our games and scoring plenty of goals, all for just a fiver a time. I'm glad I'm not the only one hoping for a wash out this weekend, if Oadby end up playing Sat, Tues and Thursdays they couldn't easily drop a couple of points somewhere due to a mistake from a very fatigued player
We really need to work on GD, I know first thing is to get the 3 points but we really need to put some goals past Rothwell
I think this stage of the season us being the twelfth man can really make the difference.

Oadby's game is off. I bet they're wishing that they'd gone out of the Pointless Cup early now!
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.
