Having replayed the incident leading to the free kick for the first goal I still can't see how it was a foul.
Gilly seemed to try to grab the forward but missed and fell over as a result.
I had a very good view of the 95th. minute penalty incident live and the highlights only confirm to me that it was a harsh decision.

Having said all that we didn't perform well enough over the 90 minutes and could easily have gone 2 down on a couple of occasions, so a draw was a reasonable outcome overall.

James Freshwater's dead ball striking was very impressive, and I wonder if he might be seen in an AFC shirt next season given his past connections.

What does everyone think about the ref's position for the pen. It looked to me as if he was too far away and had players obstructing his view. Did the lino give it?

Jon you must have not enjoyed, loved and then not enjoyed again putting those together

Look at the lino at the top of the screen when the penalty is given; you can clearly see that it wasn't him who gave it. It was just a simply appalling decision, as was the free kick for their first goal.

If you look at the Eynesbury player's reaction when he hears the whistle in the lead up to the first goal, he was clearly expecting the decision to go against him, and was as surprised as everyone else in the ground when it was given in his favour.

Awful, awful decisions. That was the first time I've seen the free kick and it's actually a worse decision than the one for the penalty. We're being fucked over by referees who want their moment in the spotlight and to gain some notoriety.

Inevitable really. Referees at this level will struggle in front of crowds usually found at Blue Square South/Conference level. They just aren't experienced enough but there is nothing we can do about it.

It's strange though because at higher levels the officials are accused of giving in to the big teams. Like nobody gets a penalty at old trafford etc, but with this case a lot of the time its very debatable decisions that are going against us even at our ground in front of our many fans.

I'm not saying as we have the most fans like Manchester United in the premiership we should be getting all 50/50 decisions i'm just saying its weird how it doesn't happen like that, it seems they like to piss off all 6/700 of us instead with some very dubious decisions.

I disagree, on the whole the refs at this level have been generally good, they have used common sense to try and let the game flow. I feel that in this case, as with the other two games we have had, is that this ref is simply not good enough, I don't think he was against us at all, I just think he made mistakes in all three games he has had, and they all have gone against us.

There were copious amounts of UCL board members there for this and the Oadby game, so I would imagine they would have assessed this guys performance....but I bet its a right bugger to get hold of refs in the first place!

It's far too easy when a decision goes against us to cry foul and accuse refs of a bias or seek a conspiracy theory. I agree with Ron Manager, I firmly believe that ref's call it as they see it and whilst some are more competent than others, i'm yet to see a corrupt official.
