FA Cup Betting

Post by Everyweeker »

Corby Diamond and Diamond Wolf mentioned on the Northwood website thread that odds are up for this weekends games. Any views?

After the massacre of the previous round I ought not say anything more!

But...

I agree with Diamond Wolf that Spalding are too big, and cannot reasonably be the same price as Holbeach to win. However, at 2.4 I am not lumping on. Got a funny feeling Spalding won't be that reliable - cup game and local derby.

Northwood are absurdly big, but can't bring myself to get involved.

Godmanchester look too big at 3/1 to win away at Sleaford - they haven't had a great start out east, but as you've all seen first hand, Sleaford are shipping goals for fun.

Ilfracombe may be slightly too big at Plymouth Parkway, but I would prefer 'draw-no-bet' (though it is sadly not offered!). Hard to see hosts not earning a replay at least. Ilfracombe did win well at St. Austell last round, however, and have suffered defeats to some of the better Western a league sides. Parkway have 100% league record, but that may flatter slightly (though I expect them to win their league in the end).

As in the last round, Bristol Manor Farm should be added to any multiple, but they are far too short to back on own right.

If K*ttering have turned a corner with that first win, they could be a decent price at home to a poor Gresley side. No bet for obvious reasons, however.

Completely misread Bodmin in the last round, and game at Wells is best avoided - hosts upset Buckland in the last round so all results truly on the table. Bodmin still utterly unreliable and struggling to get results in the league, but Wells not exactly pulling up trees in the Western League.

St. Blazey also ought to be beaten away from home, but prices seem fair. Can probably assume a home win on any FA Cup multiple.

Tiverton, Taunton and Clevedon are all 'no bet' games for me - very tough to get a read on any of them for Saturdy, though expected Tivvy to have been far better than they have shown so far.

Just a small single bet on Holbeach, along with them doubled up with Godmanchester for me. May take a punt on Ilfracombe as well because the odds are slightly out with how I would price it. Tough round betting wise though!

So tempted by an emotional cover bet but I just can't! :(
