Excellent read, if a tad long. Certainly 3G pitches can improve players skills and revenues for the clubs. I wonder if it is something we would consider in the long term?
He also has some good points regarding the appeal of "British" players. Not so long ago the Football League and even non league had former First Division players gracing their clubs.***
Today even moderate players cannot be bothered to finish their careers "giving back" something to the game.
****When I was a lad former England and Spurs player Bobby Smith played for Hastings Utd and the great John Charles played for Hereford. Imagine Wayne Rooney at Accrington Stanley!!!!
