Lovely I'll take that thank you. Should easily put us in the next round. They lost 4-1 to Corinthians on Saturday for goodness sake. Could play a second string and still be confident of victory.

If it has to be an UCL team we play, it's good to get one of the teams we haven't played before. I hope they'll be a bit more reasonable with their pricing policy than they were with the U18 game we played there last season.

Went to the game we lost 3-2 in our first season. Lovely clubhouse, but miserable and unpleasant man on the gate is what I recall.Formic wrote:If it has to be an UCL team we play, it's good to get one of the teams we haven't played before. Good draw, good chance to advance, but never too easy away from home.

Even against Woodford Mark? Really? They are terrible! I know you can be pessimistic at the best of times, but come on! 4-0 thank you very much.

I'll bow to your knowledge on their recent form
Didn't I see they signed a bunch of new players very recently, who looked reasonable on paper (I.e. Not just U18s!)? Rebuilding not going to well in UCL1?

If the players walk out with your attitude towards Woodford then the game could be as good as lost

Biggles - i'm not a player though am I? I would like to think they want to win every match, and go out and play as such.
Woodford United - UCL Div 1
Played 8, Won 0, Lost 8, for 3, against 34, GD - 31, 0 pts.

Never wise to be over confident but we are talking about a team from UCL 1 with a 0-0-8 record this season and a goal difference of -31, without getting carried away I think everyone would be a little surprised if we didn`t progress, even with then raising their game.Biggles wrote:Just like piggers post about Cambridge, no doubt thay will post up your comments in the dressing room.UttoDiamond wrote:Even against Woodford Mark? Well then give me a reason for cup upsets, we should walk it on paper yes, but cup games like this are one offs, form goes out of the window.UttoDiamond wrote:Biggles - i'm not a player though am I? I would like to think they want to win every match, and go out and play as such.

Players are human and they get cocky they assume its an easy game and the correct mind set is left at home.
