The Diamonds youngsters go to Kingsthorpe Mill on Thursday evening - KO 7:30pm

This is the NFA David Joyce cup, which also features the likes of the Cobbler and Posh youth teams, so it would be a good one to progress in - especially now the FA Youth Cup run has ended.

As manager of the under 18s I am truly sorry for what the parents, fans and club has had to endure with our performance this evening. I never visit or view this site however, I feel that after this evenings non performance the club, supporters and parents deserve an apology to what they witnessed.
We pride ourselves on being unique, play in a certain style and with development in mind. We were so poor that I was forced to abandon these principles and play in a direct style to get back in the game. The buck stops with me and as the under 18s manager I will do everything in my power to rectify our frailties and to continue to improve and develop the players.
The players are aware they let themselves down tonight and will be interesting to observe how they respond next Thursday.
Once again, the buck stops with me and I am honest enough and ugly enough to take it on the chin regroup and again prove that we are a club that develops players

Hi all jake Reynolds here just using my dad account to say sorry for our poor performance tonight,it wasn't good enough. We didn't play as a team and lacked heart and belief, we didn't do ourselves justice and made the club look poor, we should be doing better. Sorry to the parents and supports who came tonight we let you down. It can only go up from here. Sorry again

Chin up lad. Poor performances happen in football and can be seen as a learning curve in the pre-senior game. Takes a big man to come onto this forum and apologise for your teams performance. Like you said it can only go up from here, so onwards and upwards to the next game!discodunk wrote:Hi all jake Reynolds here just using my dad account to say sorry for our poor performance tonight,it wasn't good enough. Sometimes you learn more about yourselves in a defeat than in a victory. As the saying goes;
"Success is not a matter of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire".

I only saw the first half as Adam finished early.
The way Mark has the boys playing means that there will be occasions where it all goes pear shaped performance wise, let's forget about the result.
Heads went down a bit after the third goal, which is understandable, we have a young team.
Positives, Mark got the boys playing a different way and we won the second half 1-0.
As ever enjoyable watching the U18's
