Jake Newman

Post by STAGMAN »

I know we have had our differences with Jake but i feel really sorry for what happened to the guy today. I have been reliably informed that at the end if the game against Long Buckby today he was attacked by an opposing player and now is in hospital with a broken jaw and some rearranged teeth. I believe that the paramedics and police were called as well, good luck Jake and all the best mate, thugs like this should not be allowed on a football field. I think we would all agree that Jake was never the sort of guy to antagonize anymore always a very fair player

Bloody hell - that's not on at all. Seems like we can't go a day without issues like this from one side or another - maybe we could have a whip-round for him on Teusday, get everyone at the gate to sign a card or something for him? Cheesy, I know, but I imagine it might lift his spirits a bit.

Hope Jake's back on his feet soon and that there's no permanent damage.

Any word on what's going to be done about this in disciplinary terms? If this happened up in the League, this would probably be a very long ban. Hope the UCL throw the book at the bugger.

I wish he was still here to be honest. Things like that are enough to make you give up the game, hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

I was told he may need an op to have his jaw wired.

Had my fair share of digs at Jake on here but we all know him as a decent lad who may have made a bad decision during the closed season & made a couple of daft comments. His contribution last season was massive, all the best Jake & hope things aren't as bad as they sound. Think sending a card from us may make him smile & make him the first to get a get well card from us & that lot up the road. Like you say Dave no shock with the Club involved as after the league win to say Buckby have lost their way is an understatement.

I know we've given Jake stick and he made some questionable decisions, but I hope he gets through this.

Lets hope the scumbag who did this gets what is coming to him.
