Eynesbury Rovers clinched second place in UCL1 tonight, and join Oadby in moving up to step 5.
I saw the game tonight, and didn't think Eynesbury were as impressive as last season - although they've won 10 in a row. They won 4-1, with left midfielder Tom Coles scoring all four, but had Raunds scored with a great chance when it was 1-1 early in the second half they might have had a battle.
The UCL suffered another embarrassment when they failed to provide three officials for such a key game, despite appearing to have plenty of time to organise a replacement. Eynesbury had to provide a linesman, who appeared to be one of their supporters, as there were no local officials available,
They'd done some improvements at one end, with a proper fence to separate the car park, but the far end was completely out of bounds.
Oadby & Eynesbury Promoted
Re: Oadby & Eynesbury Promoted
Seen them a couple of times this season and would agree not as good as last season, the lad Coles is useful, but they do miss Fresh pulling the strings in midfield. Harsh league again this year Harrowby could end up with 94 points and not go up. Big result last night though looking at the UCL results site, Bugbrooke 3 St Neots Saints 65 and they were 2 down at half time, that could possibly affect the leagues leading goal scorer stats.
