Hopefully we can get a better crowd than Northwich got last year and it will be great to see a few Hinckley fans as well!

It'll be interesting to see what type of side Peaksy puts out for this. They've played 7 games with results ranging from an 11-1 win to a 5-0 defeat. When full strength it sounds like they are a good outfit...a 2-0 home defeat to Conference side Tamworth sounds a really good effort.
Radio Diamonds will be doing 2nd half coverage again of the closing stages of 2nd attempt to win the Supporters Direct Shield. Bit of a review of the new players and plans for the rest of pre season are on our own website.

IMO we should be putting out our strongest available XI from the start and get this team gelled & fully bedded in ready for the league campaign. Any news on the Dolman injury? We've had a mixed bag of results so we need to start the serious business of winning now.

Performances are more important than results in pre-season. Winning isn't important IMO, if we're winning but playing poorly then that won't help us in the regular season.

But this is a competitive cup match and not just a PSF. Great teams play poorly & win anyway.

Is it? I believe it has the same status as it had last season - i.e. a PSF with a label, like the dozens of similar games at this time of year - the James Victory Cup, the Battle of Britain Cup, the Chris Ruff Memorial Cup etc.Three of Diamonds wrote:But this is a competitive cup match and not just a PSF. I believe its more important to build towards the new season where the real prizes are won. Its important we give the right players the game time they need, try out any players in new positions etc.Three of Diamonds wrote:Goodness me. Where's everyone's competitive spirit ffs?
