Racism
As an outsider I would like to congratulate R&D with the way they have swiftly and effectively dealt with the racism attack by a supporter vs Wisbech Town. Bigger clubs should have the balls to deal with such outbreaks as effectively as you did.
Re: Racism
Yes indeed, well done to the club for dealing with it a swift and professional manner, don't need any of that at the D&D or any ground for that matter.

Well done to the club.
Any news on the outcome of the (alleged) assault on one of our u16 players by an opposing manager yet???

The under 16's incident is being dealt with and those directly involved will be made aware of the outcome at the appropriate time.
The matter was dealt with on the day by the Manager, the club have followed this up through the official channels after consultation with the manager.
As frustrating as it might be for you not to have access to all the information, surely you can see why this has to be.

Thanks for the reply. My concern is although this is under investigation, it does seem to be a very slow process as opposed to the weekends incident. Even Clarksons incident was dealt with quicker, although it doesn't seem like it.Sandy Lane wrote:The under 16's incident is being dealt with and those directly involved will be made aware of the outcome at the appropriate time.

Re: Racism
Had the issue been completely internal, then it would have been dealt with just as swiftly as the incident you mention.
But I suspect you already knew that.......

The concern I have is that although I use the word "alleged" it wasn't alleged. I know at least two lads that were playing in that game and despite one of the fathers (watching) being extremely close to me I also know another couple of fathers who were as first hand witnesses. The main concern is that nobody knows if the manager in question has been suspended/banned from dealing with children until the issue is completely dealt with. Although I absolutely despise racism and am glad the club dealt with this issue within a couple of days, child hitting is in my mind more serious.
Now to enjoy my weekend.

Your concern is; although you said alleged, it isn't alleged but true and that you know some people who saw it. Why is that a concern to you?The concern I have is that although I use the word "alleged" it wasn't alleged. I know at least two lads that were playing in that game and despite one of the fathers (watching) being extremely close to me I also know another couple of fathers who were as first hand witnesses..
As previously stated, the people directly involved will/have been made aware of developments. You haven't because you don't fall into that catergory. The main concern is that nobody knows if the manager in question has been suspended/banned from dealing with children until the issue is completely dealt with.
I'm glad you question these things though, its good to know your concerned that we do things right, keeps us in check.

With such a good radar of how to run things, would you consider the possibilty of giving some of your time to help us run the youth teams, I'm sure the current volunteers would welcome an extra set of hands.
Get in touch if can please, goldbond@afcdiamonds.com or come see me at a home game, I am currently wearing a silly hat to home games ;)

Re: Racism
Too point maybe concern isn't the right word. I'm just wondering why although the matter was indeed witnessed by a number of people it has taken so long to resolve. Is the guy still active with children?Sandy Lane wrote:Your concern is; although you said alleged, it isn't alleged but true and that you know some people who saw it. As to giving up some time to help run/assist with the youth team. I'm unfortunately in a very difficult position regarding my job as to when I can manage to be free. I cannot make a 100 per cent commitment with regards to time. I have only seen two senior games this season due to my time restraints. Today for example I cannot make it as I have more pressing things to be getting on with. I'm hoping that next season things may be different until then I'll keep listening to Paul and the gang, and watching as much of my nephew in the evenings as I can. Which in honestly is also scarce.
