I feel sorry for people who don't drink................when they wake up in the morning, that's the best they're going to feel all day.

For the same reason we didn't use the Dog and Duck Bar when we were there - capacity. I'll double check with Glenis, but it was capacity as generally we had anywhere up to 20+ tables (and turning people away some months), hence we needed somewhere with a large enough space, and Glenis books the whole year in advance too generally (some months are quieter for holidays etc.) - hence why we publish well in advance so people get it in their diaries.diamondphil wrote: Wed Jun 08, 2022 11:23 am just a question for someone out of the loop a little bit, why isn't / can't this be held at Hayden Road?

We'd always used Bowls Club until Covid - and they changed their policy for outside hiring. So the new venue was used (with an experiment at the Train Sheds too - which was too cold I think).
I think more than 80% of the Quiz attendees are not football club fans anyway, but this still generates good funds to the club, plus a good amount to Cransley Hospice too (we carry on the tradition of Ken Dobb's the original Quiz Master).
