Diamonds Forum

Genuine question - and I'll probably get shot down in flames but is it time to consider taking down this forum. Such a 'go to' over the years but apart from Dazzler and 'former players' postings it barely has any traffic or talking points these days.

We regularly get 400+ to home games and take a large following away but there now seems little interest in posting or participating. An important 3 points at Coventry Sphinx has received no response on this forum - and yet this is a team with one eye on the play-offs for the first time since Peaksy's era. We have a bright young manager and arguably one of the best players ever to wear an AFCRD shirt - and yet no reaction!

Personally, I don't want to see it go but thought the question should be raised. Times are changing and social media continues to evolve but not sure this forum now has the legs!

I had noticed this as well but the Fb page does not seem to get much interest either, not sure what is going on especially with the increased interest in the club. If the game is on Saturday it could be another good crowd as the forecast is good and they are one of the best supported clubs in the league so should be a fair bit of away support

Please don't take it down.
This forum is how many of us keep up to date with what is happening with our club.
First- Dazzler has to go down as the greatest servant of our club ever.
Second- I have been shot down in flames, ignored and down right insulted over many years in all the different incarnations of this site but it is how I get to have my say when I have felt the need.
F Facebook, F x, on here we can have a chat and disagree with some level of respect.
Well done to everyone who works hard to keep all the different parts of our club going ( as I know stagman has done)

The forum seemed to take a nose dive after the Maxwell era, probably due to all the mud that was slung at the time, which put people off contributing. There's also been a sea change in our supporters as we now seem to have a good section of youngsters getting behind the club which is great to see.
It's a real shame but I wouldn't close this place down.

I used to enjoy the banter, especially with the likes of Brownie.
It just needs more of you to comment particularly post match whether it be a win or a lose.
Looking forward to tomorrows game, via Radio Diamonds.
Hopefully a result to set us up nicely for the next two months.

I have been using the various incarnations of this forum since I was 14. 22 years!

I don't think there's any need for it to go and I still check it daily, but as we have seen so many times over the years, this forum has always been far more active in a period of crisis. I think that's just the nature of the beast.

The rise in social media and the change in the way the Club uses social media over the last few years in particular has also changed the way people engage with the Club and other supporters. I think any forum of this nature will have seen a downturn in activity over the years as a result of a change in the way everyone consumes information.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I’m guilty of not posting much these days, I’m more of a lurker at the moment, I’ve had/have too much going on in life to spend too much time on here- but I’d like the Forum to remain too. Maybe as our fan base is changing with younger fans etc, it needs to be promoted somehow? Maybe there is a lack of knowledge about its existence? I know it’s difficult for the club to officially promote the forum, but I do miss the debates etc we used to have on the old conference forum and rdfcnet back in the day …… anyone remember Ted lol
