If only we had more......

Post by Pigman »

......fans eh? Then we wouldn't have to gift half our stadium to the opposition. See what York are planning:

Don't get me wrong, I think its the right decision to give Luton half the ground from a financial point of view, but only because I know we wouldn't be able to sell them to home fans so need to take the opportunity to raise some extra cash. York, I'm sure, will have far more glory hunters than us, so will probably sell out their home areas, hence being able to restrict away fans numbers.

Shame we don't have more glory boys eh?

Incidentally, if Oxford are only allocating 1300 and Luton 1500................would we sell them out????

So if Luton get york they get 1500 tickets, if they play us they get 3300 and they have almost 10,000 stadium! The fact that we have all but sold out seating tickets makes it a clearer decision to me, just get luton (if we get them) the last block in the north stand, thats approx 2500 seats, thats enough for an away team of any size in a play-off game! We play two legs for a reason, and i beleive we would be able to fill the south and half of the north stand up! My reasoning has nothing to do with season ticket holders!

We'd definitely have a good amount by our standards as it's a bank holiday and I'm sure many people that wouldn't usually go to away games will go because of the importance of the game but I'd be surprised if we sell out those allocations. I would guess we'd take 800-1000 to either Luton or Oxford.

Given that NP's capacity is 6553, you reckon we'd be able to sell 4000 home tickets??? Not a chance in hell !! We can't even sell out half the ground for Saturday's game !!

I think we would be able to sell 2500-3000 tickets for a play-off game, but i would by far rather see 4,000-4,500 attendance with less of an allocation to the luton fans then 5,000+ and the place crawling with the big headed bast*rds

I think KC might not feel the same, though...

I see what you mean and tbh having any Luton fans in our ground is bad enough, let alone 3000!! But the club can't look at it in that way as obviously they need to maximise revenue as much as possible and if that means giving Luton over half the ground twice then so be it unfortuantely! I expect we will see over 2500 home fans though as I'm sure we'll see all sorts of gloryhunters turn up for that one!

i see the money argument and get it and i do agree but an argument put to me by a friend was, if hind sight was available to us, having less Luton fans for our play-off HOME game, they players dont get as much of a 'lift' from the fans, we manage to win the play-off semis, the revenue gained from a Wembley visit will far outweigh the extra luton fans, if we manged to win the play-off, imagine the extra money for league 2 football

Obviously no-one can be sure that less luton fans will affect they teams preformance in any way and there is many if and buts and no can the ability of hind sight to them! By its one opinion!
