I know it's not perfect but with a very small outlay the ground will be perfectly acceptable for the level we are currently at and the level above as for the changing rooms I can think of several worse than at Hayden rd the dog and ducks are hardly glamorous. I think people need to look at the bigger picture and not how close they may live to our temporary new home the club needs to grow as does the fan base so keeping it as close to our original birthplace is definitely going to benefit us in the long run.
Absolutely spot on. The ground we visited on Saturday was awful and no better than Hayden road Imo. People forget that the d&d was awful and only looks as good as it does today due to the hard work our volunteers have put in.

This isn't a vote as to what suits you personally it's the very future of our club and it cannot come down to who has the nicest ground

I agree. Although Bedford or Kempston would be convenient for me I wouldn't vote for them over a ground that is more local to Rushden, as the club needs the locals from that area, and many won't fancy a regular trip of over 30 mins down the A6. If we have to take a step down to stay local then it's a reasonable price to pay IMO.

I think what a number of people seem to be forgetting is that we are a "community club" How are we meant to inspire the youngsters of our local area (and in local i mean Rushden, Irthlingborough etc)to want to aspire to playing for their local "community" club if we are playing a minimum of 15 miles away , potentially in a different county?! IF Hayden Road is an option and IF it is viable/financially do'able i think this should be very seriously considered by the members who are to vote tomorrow. As Curly has already stated this is a vote for the future of the club, NOT what is most convenient in terms of distance to you as a member, or what team has the shiniest ground etc....this is a vote to ultimately take our club forward AND to give the local community and kids something to be proud of being a part of and following.
Naturally everybody is entitled to vote as they see fit, but i would urge people to vote with the club at heart and not what is best for them, which i fear from reading certain posts and hearing the way some people are talking, may not be the case, which would be a huge shame and could possibly un do all of the hard work that a lot of individuals have put into getting this great club of ours back up and running again.
I look forward to seeing what our three options are tomorrow, and, just as interestingly how they are presented by our current board to the members.

Plus the dressing rooms are one of the three worst in the UCL.
Well said,

A how are we suppose to come up with the cash, b why on earth would we want to risk are club financially when we have decent local grounds next/near to us, like Wellingborough, and c we should look to move forward as a club.

We don't have the money to do it up, there's no Max Griggs, also the football club doesn't own that ground, so we're left in the same position (as previous people have stated) so we in the same position as what we were at D & D, where's the money suppose to have come from.

Clearly the ideal scenario would be to find a new groundshare within the Rushden/Higham/Irthlingborough area and none of the previous posts have stated otherwise and nobody has suggested that watching AFCRD at a ground outside the County is preferable. This thread has been started because a poster was told by his workmates that a ground share at Bedford Town was a 'done deal' and clearly this is not the case. Any comments relating to a suggestion that Hayden Road would be a suitable venue have received many observations that are of a pragmatic nature with regard to ground grading requirements for Step 4 and Step 3 if we get promoted. Throw in security of tenure, the knowledge that the Rushden Sports Association are looking to relocate R & H and the cricket club to another site then the reservations previously expressed are understandable. I personally feel that upgrading costs for the ground would also be a major obstacle and you couldn't expect R & H to contribute to any costs.

I do agree, however, that members should vote for option that they feel is best for the Club and not what is best for themselves.

Not long to wait to see what the 3 options are!

Oliverrush how do you know how much it will cost to bring up to standard? How do you know for a fact that it isn't already up to standard or very close to being so? I think you must have missed the part where i stated "IF it is viable/financially do'able"
IF it is a possibility then it should be very carefully considered, in MY humble opinion
PS: Minor grumble, but please learn the difference between "our" and "are" ;) thanks in advance

Touchy person.

I've read your comment, (seen your if comment) and reply back with it with a good comment/like Trek did, ie stating we don't have the money.
I can't help in your a touchy person, so there's no need for a asshole reply back from you. You've stated that it should be carefully considered, even if it puts our club at financially risk. (Also wanting to add that I don't think it would be good to put our club at financially risk)

Unless you have the money. I kindly stated to you, that we don't have the money, just like other user(s) have done, so there's no need for you to be a asshole over it. I didn't have to state to you, we don't have the money, but choose to do the right thing, so there was no need for you to be a asshole over it.

Have you properly read mind and Trek previous messages, don't think so. Read them properly.

For those who are interested, these are the ground grading requirements for Step 4:

(If we were promoted) Step 3:
