For the record, I think Paul has been one of our most outstanding players this season and your stupid moaning is doing him an injustice in my opinion.

Did anyone else think it probably wasn't a penalty? judging by the referee today you only had to trip over and you got awarded a free kick.

It went on target. It's all you need to do for a penalty - the rest is keeper dependant.
Everyweeker wrote:
In what way was it a good penalty?
Sorry, it was an awful penalty! Not moaning in general, but facts are facts about this one incident. He almost gave away where it was going before he took it, clearly shaping to 'push' the ball rather than pull it (ask anyone around me what I was saying beforehand).
Then, after making it clear which side it was going, he hit it with placement in mind, i.e. not power. Hitting it so weakly, you have to place it correctly, and it was woefully straight and midheight.
Easy save, terrible pen.
Don't confuse this as a moan however, Terry has impressed me most of the season and is a very good player indeed.
Exactly my point. A player that takes a penalty should at least be able to put it as far away from the keeper as possible.
You're knocked out with who I am,
Look at you now, you're all in my hands.

yeah bit of dive, for me but the Ashikodi freekick that got Stuart booked was a fair old dive too - swings and roundabouts. Poor officials I'm afraid.Red Diamond wrote:Did anyone else think it probably wasn't a penalty? judging by the referee today you only had to trip over and you got awarded a free kick.

The officials today were poor and inconsistent. I don't know what they were thinking in some of the decisions, and Sam Smith was fouled so many times and it went unnoticed!
Another advantage of going up is hopefully an improvement in officials...

Don't bet on it! I'm sure you remember some of the refs we have in the FA Cup. And if not just look at the prem refs!!! Different league, same woeful refs i would imagine! :roll:Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:Another advantage of going up is hopefully an improvement in officials...
