As I understand it Nathan is on a non contract basis at the scum.

Lets kill two birds with one stone, replace Dale with Nathan and leave the scum with a crippled old keeper.

if i was abbey id tell us where to stick it!

Alternatively, If you did not like my previous post, Jamie Young was recently released from Wycombe Wanderers.

How about Jamie?

dont get me wrong id quite like to see abbey playing for us again, im just saying 'i get the feeling if approached he wouldnt come back here ...therefore he would say no ...or shove it up your ar*e'!

thought he was decent, made few mistakes but all keepers do.

as for jamie young, good keeper and i would welcome him back, but do we really need to worry about thatjust yet..... id be very suprised to see dale leave us to join gateshead and even more suprised if we allow it.

I've just read the comments to my first post. I only signed up as a forum member today to pass on the news, which I heard from a source who was told by Dale himself, very very recently, and I genuinely believe it to be true. That's not to say there couldn't be a last minute hitch I suppose. I personally think JE has had this in mind for sometime and has someone else lined up. If it happens, it's a pity it didn't work out at Diamonds better for Dale as by all accounts he seems a nice lad and I wish him all the best.

I think £20k for Roberts is a steal. He looked to me like he was just coming back into top form and if he goes it'll be a real shame. If he does go I do hope it's for personal reasons and not footballing ones.
DC went to Gateshead cos they were the only ones who'd take him at the time I expect.

This 'rumour' has been about for over a week now. Dale nearly went to Gateshead earlier in the season, on loan, when Abbey was the no1; he's from the north east, and for a club in our financial position, not to mention the lack of numbers throught the gates for home games, then KC is going to seriously consider any cash offers!! However, that would also presume that JE can get someone of similar ability, at no extra cost?? With Abbey having had a problem with being dropped, just before he was released, i'd doubt he'd really want to come back, and as for the Cambridge keeper, he'd have to be signed for no fee, otherwise I can't see the benefit.

Dale spoke to Radio Diamonds before the Barrow game and confirmed that Gateshed rang up the club a couple of times when Abbey was playing looking for a loan move.

However Edinburgh said no because he has high hopes for Dale. The only reason I can think of letting him go is we've got someone else lined up and Gateshead are paying decent dosh for him.

Maybe we need the cash to sort out some cash flow issues, at least it's not Tommo going, if he leaves too could be season over!
