Perhaps this is....
.....the kind of appeal our new owners need to make to the people of Rushden and Irthlingborough?

Not for 2000, that'd be daft, but just for fans old and new to come along and help us push on to the play-offs. We're running out of home games now, but it can't hurt eh?

Worth a pint though eh? Not sure if he's genuine or looking for an excuse to cut and run.

Re: Perhaps this is....
 Not that it matters because they're not going to get anywhere near 10,000 in there any time soon, but why is a shiny new 25,000+ seater stadium not allowed to use 60% of it's capacity?! :lol:Darlington's current average home attendance is 1,826, with the capacity capped at 10,000 due to safety certificate reasons.

Indeed, seems very strange indeed.davealbon wrote::lol: Not that it matters because they're not going to get anywhere near 10,000 in there any time soon, but why is a shiny new 25,000+ seater stadium not allowed to use 60% of it's capacity?! :lol:Darlington's current average home attendance is 1,826, with the capacity capped at 10,000 due to safety certificate reasons.
It's in a very open area if I remember rightly so couldn't see any issues with crowding?

If I remember correctly, it's that ground that crippled them in the first place. It was built by a chairman who wanted to take them to the Championship/Premiership and then pulled out a year later.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Reynolds_(business)
He was tried for charges of tax evasion after being stopped with £500,000 worth of cash in the boot of his car [1]. The court heard how Reynolds was now almost penniless having sold his houses, cars and yacht. In October 2005 Reynolds was found guilty and sentenced to three years imprisonment. Reynolds was released on 6 December 2006 but was electronically tagged and subject to a curfew until he received his parole licence in April 2007. He currently operates a vending machine company, and is involved in retail.
