I for one am happy that you have shared this with us 'Pressman', and can fully see why you didn't go into details.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I am in total agreement as to the others thanks for enlighting us pressman,i think we are all well aware there are lines not to cross especially in your line of work, totally appreciated

Thanks for the promising rumours Chris, the silence is very frustrating at the moment but its nice even when I think there's no hope (which I have been doing for the last week) that some hopeful info turns up. Not getting too excited though, even if we can secure the short term future, its going to be a challenge to secure the long term future that's for sure.

Re: What is the current state of play?
Obviously we need to sort out the short term future first to actually keep going i see according to the ET today that the conference want a formal meeting regarding assurances that the fixtures etc can be fulfilled by the 6th june.hopefully this can be sorted,
Then i think it's a case of lessons learned as someone put in a post elsewhere on the forum we have to look at the sales and marketing of the club and the whole venue, when was the last time you heard or saw an advert about whats on or for hire, the revenue needs to come in all year not just in season time even then it must be plugged to the max, inviting local buisness along at affordable packages,we all know money is tight so we have to provide value for money and offer an attractable product. Look at other clubs for ideas to see what they do not just non league but league clubs. At one time you had the snooker etc now not much let's up the marketing,we have a fantastic facility one to be proud of let's try and keep it', sorry for going o  n

Re: What is the current state of play?
One thing i will say about the Beasants is that they did have some good ideas for bringing extra money in which i hope any new people would look at ie their idea of a car hire buisness operating from the club shop with the overlap of a car valeting/ wash buisness at the front car park . Also their plans to market the conference facilties better, i know for a fact that even though there is a recession their is still plenty of corporate meetings still going on that we miss out on. For instance a very local charity that used to use us had a large open day at the K*ttering Conf Centre this week spending a considerable sum with them , that should have been ours. Properly marketed this club could cut its loss by a fair amount i would imagine

Re: What is the current state of play?
With regards to the first post by Pressman & the follow ups with Mad dog. My first "impression" was the same as MD to be fair, lots of speculation but nothing concrete. We are all frustrated as hell over this sorry affair, and must take a step back and think before posting. That's not easy to do. We must stop beating each other up though, if we divide we are conquered.
Mad dog ( I hope you're still reading stuff here or I'm writing to myself {again  })
I think by taking a break from posting you are doing the right thing for yourself, I did it for a while and came back as a new person, this place can sometimes get you down.

Re: What is the current state of play?
To Pressman and Mad Dog - come on, gentlemen, stop your bickering. You have both done sterling work to try to discover information and help the club through these troubled times. You are both on the same side. MD - you know that sometimes reporters have to refuse to 'name their sources' to retain integrity and the confidentiality of their informants. PM - you know that Mad Dog has done his best to use his computer skills to identify ways of generating income for the club. You are both intelligent men but you need to end this spat and realise you are both fighting the same battle TO SAVE DIAMONDS - and, yes, that was meant to be a shout
I have spoken to you both at away games and know that you both are passionate about Diamonds. I know that you both want us to emerge triumphantly from the present crisis. PM - you won't get the same pleasure from reporting on other local teams. MD - you won't get the same pleasure from watching Barnet or any other team as you do from Diamonds. So, please, gentlemen, stop your squabbling and unite in the struggle to save the club. Please continue the roller-coaster ride of being an active Diamonds' fan and don't let present differences of opinion sway you from acting in a common cause.
