I was that person that contacted KC a number of times about the phoenix during the last few weeks of RDFC as we started on the very early plans. At the last meeting chaired by KC at NP I was due to attend with AndyKirkup and put our case forward to the fans about the possibility of a phoenix club but it became clear during the days leading up to this meeting, that is was going to be a sham! In fact the meeting was not about trying to save RDFC or help generate support for a phoenix, but was being called in order to get a show of hands towards the "who wants to continue to see football at NP question"Arendee wrote:The context is important here though. The 1% vote (which I can't actually recall being asked for a show of hands on) would have come after being told that the someone had contacted KC with the suggestion of starting up a phoenix club but had subsequently given up over a lack of support. When you view it in that context it's not surprising that people would view the phoenix as a non-starter and our "friends" from KTFC as an option
We didn't want to have anything to do with that meeting so we pulled out that day. By no means had we given up due to a lack of support and this has been reported incorrectly. We just didn't want to be part of that meeting and hence didn't even attend.
Formic, we've spoken a number of times on the phone and I feel the same way as you on a number of issues but think as pointed out by other people on this thread we should urge all Trust members that now support the AFC to go and make sure we have a voice, and a vote so please do try and attend.
