In fact, clicking on the sport tab on the ET site reveals a lot of outdated information as reporters such as John Smith and Mark Lea no longer work for the ET.
Now that the paper is only published weekly, the complete web-site needs a total re-vamp!
Evening Telegraph - What's Going On?
Re: Evening Telegraph - What's Going On?
Totally agree with you Trek, but it wasn't the avid fans I was concerned with. I was thinking more of people not in the know, i.e. potential new fans / one off match visitors who wouldn't necessarily go to our fans or official websites but might be trawling the local news onlineTrek wrote:Perhaps you ought to leave it to Bozzer who is our press representative. ;)stamboy wrote:
I'll call the ET and contact the marketing dept about helping out.
I would also add that those people with an Internet connection who want to find out the latest news about our club will go straight to our excellent official web-site. The main challenge for our club is get the news out to those potential fans who have no Internet connection. That's where Radio Northampton, posters and word of mouth become important.
It was by no means a criticism of the club, it was a criticism of the ET in that the page was blank!
Re: Evening Telegraph - What's Going On?
I saw the Shirt story thanks (well done for getting it in there) but still feel if there is a page dedicated to R&D (on the ET website) under the heading SPORT, surely the ET should put stuff there too that pertains to the club. At present it's a blank which is a but disappointing.olio wrote:http://www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/community ;)discodunk wrote:look under the community section ;) (sorry i havent worked out how to do a linky thingy, over to you modsstamboy wrote:What's going on with the ET?

There's no mention or article of any nature on the website. I know the paper only comes out weekly now and perhaps we're not being focused on because of our league position. However, I'd at least expect something perhaps even just a list of friendly fixtures on the on-line version.
Kett & Cobblers have loads of articles :(
SHODDY by the ET.)
If I was looking for Sport I wouldn't expect to go to the Community page to find it that's all.

Re: Evening Telegraph - What's Going On?
As I posted earlier the whole web-site is out of date and the 'Rushden & Diamonds' section relates to our old club and not AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Go to UCL and Junior Football sections to see what I mean. Tumbleweed!
I suspect that the ET now have a skeleton staff and insufficient manpower to keep their web-site up to date apart from major news stories and we should not rely on them to publicise news of our club.
I predict that the ET will disappear within the next year judging by the piles of unsold weekly papers that I've seen in places like Asda and Sainsbury's.
Is the Herald & Post still published since they used to give a reasonable coverage of the old RDFC?

Re: Evening Telegraph - What's Going On?
What we need to realise, is, that we do not have a right to publicity, as a new club.
Remember this will be our first "Senior" season.
Bozzer has done a lot of work, to make the right contacts with the different media groups, to ensure that we continue to gain publicity 8-)
The one thing that does come out of these debates, is that as a fan run club, we rea now seeing other people wanting to get involved which bodes well for the future.
If you want to help the club, then please contact us 8-)
