The Duke speaks the truth.
Many of Sileby`s current squad were at Long Buckby last year, and followed the chairman and the bankroll. Will be interesting to see how Sileby shape up next season. Will they be Long Buckby II ??
Shocking
Re: Shocking
Indeed I was - we'd seen during the pre-season that we were lacking in centre-midfield, with several of the players we'd brought in before the season started failing to deliver in that role, and thus had a triallist or two before Séan arrived. By his own admission Séan started slowly (which might have been the reason Jamie Gilsenan was brought in), but the management team saw the potential in him, and by the time of the Rushden & Higham game he had become one of our key players.Trek wrote:I think Formic is making the point that Sean hadn't joined the club in time to play in the majority of pre-season matches. In fact his first match was at Lutterworth Athletic and his performance was such that I seriously doubted whether I would see him again in a Diamonds shirt.
I'm am pleased to have been prooved wrong. ;)
