Corrected Attendances
Re: Corrected Attendances
Things aren't necessarily too different in the Premier Division. S&L Corby managed a crowd of 18 against leaders Holbeach last week. Last season Long Buckby won that league with a typical crowd of around 50.

Re: Corrected Attendances
I'm looking at the attendances on the Non League Matters site as we speak. S&L have an average of 39, Irchester average 43, whilst Kempston average 44.
The highest are St Ives (193) and Holbeach (162), beyond that there's a few scraping over 100 but the league average appears to be 80 or so. Oadby would rank fairly highly amongst that lot.
Clearly in Div One we heavily distort all the figures, but of the teams yet to host us ON Chenecks have the highest average - 59.

Re: Corrected Attendances
Though attendances in general in the prem are slightly higher, there's 6 teams with averages over 100, St. Ives have had quite a few 200+ crowds and Holbeach v Spalding on boxing day got 485, which for a non-phoenix/reformed club game at that level is very good.Formic wrote:Things aren't necessarily too different in the Premier Division. Re: Corrected Attendances
my second team, Wingate & finchley in the Ryman, average just about 100, it doesn't get much higher unless wealdstone come to Summers Lane.
A lot of the teams in that leage struggle to break 100. Indeed recently a freind of mine went to watch the Met Police vs Winfin, did a quick head count and came up with roughly 65-70, the attendence was later released as 110.......
We had a long discussion about attendences, and came to the conclusion that sometimes it seems clear that numbers could be 'manipulated' not sure to what end though?

I feel sorry for people who don't drink................when they wake up in the morning, that's the best they're going to feel all day.
Re: Corrected Attendances
If you take a look at the data on our OWS (which is more up to date than Non-league Matters) you can see the gross attendance figure for each team alongside the contribution from our visit - and work out a corrected "without AFC R&D game" average in your head.BartonRaz wrote:I'm looking at the attendances on the Non League Matters site as we speak. Re: Corrected Attendances
Well, while I wouldn't want to make any libellous accusations, but wasn't there an R&D game where the attendance was I think perhaps conveniently 1002, where people suggested it had been manipulated (think it might have been against Weymouth)?diamondphil wrote:my second team, Wingate & finchley in the Ryman, average just about 100, it doesn't get much higher unless wealdstone come to Summers Lane.

If clubs are 'VAT Registered', like we are, then any undeclared attendance would save them 20%.diamondphil wrote: We had a long discussion about attendences, and came to the conclusion that sometimes it seems clear that numbers could be 'manipulated' not sure to what end though?
